Rescue materials and equipment - A theoretical approach

Α theoretical lesson from the Instructor of the Mobile Disaster Response Team of the Hellenic Air Force and President of EPOMEA Egaleo Mr Roumeliotis Georgios, was held for the 6th recruit group of EPOMEA volunteers on the subject of rescue materials and equipment we use in a victim extrication operation after seismic activity.

A lesson on how to manage seismic activity before and after its occurance took place last Wednesday in EPOMEA Egaleo. The presentation and lesson was performed by Mr Kerpelis Ploutarchos, Civil Engineer of OASP (Antiseismic Planning & Protection Organization), MSc, MPS in Natural Disaster Prevention and Management, and Head of the Department of Social Earthquake Defense.

On Saturday 10/2/2018 at 6p.m. a most interesting educational programm was held at the offices of EPOMEA Volos in context of the panhellenic educational program that will be held for all EPOMEA teams of Greece on the subject of "Earthquackes and Civil Protection" with rapporteur Mr Kokolakis Konstantinos, former Head of decentralized command of Macedonia and Thrace. On Sunday 19/11. a class on water rescue was successfully completed for the volunteers of EPOMEA of Larisa city. The training on the subject of "Lifeguard handles" gave the volunteers a clear picture and practical training on the ways of handling a person at peril in waters. The progress that the volunteers have shown during the last courses has given them the strength to persevere on their training.
