EVOLSAR is the European Association of Civil Protection Volunteer Teams. It has been founded on the 10th day of May in 2014. The organization has been established with the aim of having a European group of volunteer teams similarly trained in various disciplines of Civil Protection. These teams will become highly conversant among each other with the various disciplines and would thus be able to deploy as a group to assist fellow members of the organisation, other EU member states and countries outside the EU in the event of a major calamity or as necessary.
EVOLSAR teams specialise in various rescue modules such as fire fighting, rescue diving, high angle rescue, technical rope rescue, USAR, SAR-K9 and swift water rescue, among others. Regular joint training exercises are carried out between teams, to standardise and harmonise the operational procedures as much as possible.
