Local exercise organized by EPOMEA Thessalonikis
Local rescue exercise with the coordination of EPOMEA Thessaloniki With great success, a local exercise was held with the coordination of EPOMEA Thessaloniki in the Sheikh Sou area. In the exercise, after the persuasion of the President of Thessaloniki, Miltiadis Benakis, EPOMEA Pavlos Mela participated with the presence of EPOMEA Greece's Director of Education Michalias Georgios. In the context for the promotion of the cooperation of similar teams situated in Thessaloniki, the President of EPOMEA Thessaloniki invited team EDOMAK to the exercise. Volunteer rescuers operated in search and rescue missions for the recovery of two missing persons after falling from great hight in two different scenarios and extinguishing a fire by a forest fire brigade. With an educational character for the young volunteers of EPOMEA Thessaloniki and supporting the co-education between volunteers, the exercise ended successfully. The direct communication between the departments was ensured by the Telecommunications department of EPOMEA Thessaloniki. Almost all group vehicles were used, with off-road vehicles (JEEP, ATV, UTV), drone and small and large fire trucks.
